It was Jack’s turn to do a lapbook so I asked him today what he’d like to do next.  Since he’s working on a broad theme (”the universe and everything in it”), he’s pretty open to suggestions.  He finally decided on giraffes.
I did some net searches and printed out an assortment of cool facts, basic […]

Dandelion Science

Victoria discovered this mutated dandelion in our lawn last week.

It’s hard to see from the picture, but the stems have grown together, so they are sort of conjoined twins.  The stems are separate down near the ground but they are one thick stem up by the flowers.
She has informed Daddy that he is not allowed […]

A mom on one of my homeschool lists asked for help designing a curriculum for her four year old and it got me thinking about what “curriculum” we do here.  I thought I’d post it in case it’s helpful for anybody else out there.
The most important thing to remember is that you should not try […]

Egg in a bottle– results!

We did the egg in a bottle experiment today.  It was tricky finding the right sized bottle– just a little more narrow on top than the egg.  We finally settled on a glass jar from organic garlic and figured if it was too narrow then we could go from there.
It did suck the egg into […]
