Magic and Mayhem

I love some of the stuff I’ve found on Mr. Weis’ web site!  This 5th grade teacher from a Berkeley magnet school seems to embody all that a great teacher should be — creative, interesting, enthusiastic, informative and just plain fun.

For an example, this synopsis of a week last year really reminds me of the sort of things we do around here.  I love the idea of studying root words and square roots and combining everything in a sort of root week.  Maybe we could take that a step farther and do carrot experiments and have turnips for supper….  Or I could just root around in the fridge for something.
