Anti-Schoolers in the NYT

Several years ago I got a box in the mail from my fabulous online friend Leslie in New York. Inside was an explosion of lacy, sequined, stretchy, filmy, sparkly, amazing fabric squares. She wrote that she had been walking in the garment district and spotted piles of glitzy sample fabrics in a dumpster. She hopped into the dumpster and hauled out all that she could carry home and sent us a box of it for crafting.
How could I not love this woman?
Leslie was featured in yesterday’s New York Times in an article about these radical mothers who don’t enlist their young kids in the educational rat race. Check it out here.
Friends like that are *awesome*.
