Goals for the Week
Jul 27th, 2008 by Alicia
Now that the play is over, I’m itching to make some changes and get more of our usual homeschool fun going.
Life will still be chaotic enough. Tomorrow the girls are auditioning for “Beauty and the Beast” here in town. Rehearsals run all week with the performance on Friday night, so it will be a very short play compared to what we’re used to. Then on Monday, the kids are all starting swimming lessons for the next level up at the pool. There are friends to play with, bikes to ride, books to read, picnics to attend, trees to climb and summer to enjoy.
That said, I have some general goals for all of us starting Monday…
Every day we will spend some time…
- Reading
- Cleaning
- Homeschooling
- Crafting
- Doing something fun together (puzzles, bike rides, playground, whatever)
I especially want to focus on…
- Victoria– math (alternating drills and advanced concepts), crafts
- Jack– reading to/with him, snuggling
- Alex– reading to him, baby games
- Anna– crafts, any homeschool
I also have an ongoing list of 100 things I need to get done (from painting cabinets to fixing the roof to sending out a book proposal) and I want to accomplish one thing from the list every day.
I also want to work with Daryl and the kids on coming up with a family mission statement and make a big sign with all of our family goals on it to post somewhere.
Finally, I want to get at least one room of the house completely “finished” in terms of cleaning, organizing, decorating, whatever by the end of the week.
It should help to write it all down, right? :) Wish me luck!
