Wilder Pageant, Day 2
Jul 12th, 2008 by Alicia
Opening night went well for the pageant last night. They had nearly 800 paid seats, which is pretty good considering the temps were in the 90’s and there was a tornado watch! Luckily, the rain all missed us and the night turned balmy and cool after dark.
Everybody did well and the kids saw some friends who’d come to see the play. They signed autographs afterwards and got home right around midnight, which is the norm for pageant nights.
Tonight I’m coming with the boys and meeting some homeschool friends to watch. They’ll also have the winners of the Laura and Nellie look-alike contest backstage beforehand and they get to be in a couple of scenes. The contest judges the girls on looking like the characters but also in knowing lots of trivia about them, which is a neat element.
It should be a fun night!
