5 cool things
Jun 9th, 2008 by Alicia
I’m holding a baby and then off to make supper but had to blog quick. Here’s 5 cool things we’ve done around here lately.
- Anna and I did play cooking in the shade garden at dusk last night. We made spaghetti (dandelion stems) with meatballs (dandelion heads), tossed salad with dandelion greens (natch) and sprinkled it all with fresh parsely and rosemary. I give Anna my old spices when I buy fresh and when I replace conventional with organic, so she gets to “cook” outside with the real deal.
- The kids planted sunflower seeds in a line by the swingset and are in charge of trying to grow them.
- We got some fabulous, fun science books that I’ll post about when I get a chance. Who knew the periodic table of elements could be so cool?
- Daddy and the girls are at their first practice for this year’s Wilder pageant right now. Jack got cast too but decided he’s not ready. He went with them to watch, just in case. This is the girls’ fourth year and Daryl’s third in the outdoor play based on the “Little House on the Prairie” series and Laura Ingalls Wilder’s time here.
- Daryl got the kids a math adventure game for the computer and they’ve been playing tons. I’ve already forgotten the name and the baby is trying to attack the keyboard (stop that! LOL) so I’ll have to add the name later.
Done! In record time. :) I’ll post lapbook pics of our latest of those when I get a chance after Alex is sleeping. Talk to you later!
Care to join me and post 5 of your own?
I am going to do this tomorrow. I love this idea!
