Whirlwind Week

We’re halfway through the birthday marathon. Two down!
Victoria’s birthday yesterday was a big success. She had a lot of plans and we were able to pretty much do everything. We went to homeschool swimming, libraries in two towns, her favorite Mexican restaurant and the park, among other things.
She originally wanted to meet friends at the park but I asked if it would be okay if I played with them instead, since we’re seeing those friends tomorrow and I didn’t think they could make it. She loved that idea so I played soccer with her and then played on all the playground equipment with wild (ish) abandon!
She even proclaimed that soccer league couldn’t possibly be as much fun as we have, since it’s not nearly as silly. She won, 10-5, for those who are keeping score. It didn’t help that I had Jack as my helper!
We came home and watched “The Reef” (she picked it out at the library), made paper crowns and had cake and homemade popcorn. By the time I read Anna her bedtime book at the end of the night I could barely keep my eyes open.
It was a good, but very long day!
Today we have Jan coming for Jack’s Head Start in a few minutes. I’ve already baked two cakes and have to bake one more and frost three. We’re having one butterfly, one present and one number one shaped cake.
This afternoon we’re having a big group party for all 3 birthday kids at a lovely nature camp. They’re doing all the work! LOL The theme is Creepy Crawlies and there will be games, activities and some sort of hands-on creepy crawly educational stuff. We’re having many wonderful friends joining us and it’ll be a treat to see them all.
Tomorrow is Alex’s birthday and we’re doing the swan release in the morning and play auditions in the afternoon. Luckily, he doesn’t have high expectations at one! We’ll do something to honor the one year anniversary of getting his fabulous little self though.
Jan’s here. Off I go!
