Weather Day
Feb 13th, 2008 by Alicia
Our weather event went fabulously yesterday! We had just under 30 kids, most about elementary school age. There was lots of mayhem but it was manageable mayhem. The kids learned a lot, got to make UV-changing bracelets, went snowshoeing, made ice cream in a bag and did some experiments to quite simply see how wind is made when the sun heats the earth, plus lots more.
The baby was marvelous all day long, never cried and barely napped. He loved all the attention and people watching. At the end of the day I was pretty sure I hadn’t caught my breath for at least 3 hours but I really enjoyed the day. More importantly, I think all the kids did too.
I put some Valentines ideas for different subjects up below and then posted an idea to build a blood cell that I’ve been meaning to try forever. Have a great day all!
